Physical Therapist
I’m a former high school and college athlete and just lucked into a career in physical rehabilitation. It’s the best “accident” of my life. I love caring for my patients and the relationships I cultivate as a home health physical therapist at Cushing Regional Hospital.
Ten years ago, I was a contractor, working at one of the hospital’s competitors. When the time came to settle down at one hospital, my choice was simple. I selected the most ethical and professional institution of all my contacts – Cushing Regional Hospital. I’ve happily stayed for more than a decade and have no intention of leaving.
I love the one-on-one contact I experience with patients. It’s the reason I’m in home health. I have the ability to make such a difference in people’s lives, whether it’s educating them or helping them get past physical limitations. The patients are willing to do what it takes to get well and enrich their lives, and I’m able to be a significant part of that.
My professional relationships with the other staff members create an atmosphere of constant learning. Every morning, we discuss patients’ progress and their care, bouncing innovative ideas off one another. We are a very close-knit group that works and communicates well together. We inspire one another, to improve ourselves and the lives of our patients — it’s just one of the many reasons I appreciate the culture at Cushing Regional Hospital.
